Companion Shady is a Legendary Keepsake (Companion) in Hades. Companion Shady allows you to call upon Sisyphus and Bouldy during a fight, who will send down a massive boulder from the sky, dealing a sizable amount of damage, and leaving behind goodies for you to pick up. Companion Shady is acquired after building up Zagreus' relationship with Sisyphus by giving them Nectar multiple times, fulfilling their request, and then giving them Ambrosia. Sisyphus can be found in in his own unique room in Tartarus. This room can only be found at random. His request has to do with Megaera and Nyx, who can both be found at the House of Hades.
How to Get Companion Shady in Hades
- In order to obtain Companion Shady, players have to obtain multiple Nectar and give it to Sisyphus. Afterward, their affinity with them will grow until, when viewing their entry in the Codex, a locked heart is shown on their profile. Players can then speak with Sisyphus to complete their side story and then give them Ambrosia to have them give Zagreus the Companion Shady in return.
- Nectar can be found in rooms that have its icon nectar on the door
- Nectar can also be purchased from the Wretched Broker, only one per run can be acquired.
- Ambrosia can be obtained by defeating Thesus and the Minotaur while having Bounties active from Heats through the Pact of Punishment, completing prophecies from The Fated List, turning in Bass to the Head Chef, and exchanging them for Diamonds at the Wretched Broker.
Hades Companion Shady Keepsake Guide
- The Keepsakes cabinet can be found in Zagreus' room in the House of Hades, and in the Courtyard where you'll find the Infernal Arms.
- Players have to equip Keepsakes to gain their effects. Zagreus can equip 1 active Keepsake and 1 Legendary Keepsake at a time.
- Keepsakes, unlike Boons, are permanent and WILL NOT be lost upon Death. Once unlocked, they will remain unlocked on that save.
- Unlike Keepsakes, no feature will allow you to switch Companions or Legendary Keepsakes mid-run. However, you can still view and upgrade them anywhere you can access a Keepsake cabinet.
- Initially, Companions or Legendary Keepsakes can be used once per run until they are upgraded to a maximum rank of 5, allowing you to use them a maximum of five times in a run.
How to Upgrade Companion Shady in Hades
When first receiving Companion Shady, or any other Companion or Legendary Keepsake, it will be at Rank 1, and players can upgrade four times to the maximum Rank of 5. Players can upgrade Companion Shady by trading in Ambrosia for ranking it up anywhere you can access the Keepsake cabinet.
